Strips

Strip
The business unit Special Metals Technology produces cold-rolled strips made of precious and refractory metals. This is done using the traditional method (sheet/wideband) and also using a drawing method. The necessary equipment is available in-house for both manufacturing methods, which guarantees problem-free production flow. In addition, we have the internal capacity to anneal the strips if desired by the customer.
Along with the production of strip, we also apply a variety of coatings to our own strips, as well as those purchased or provided by the customer.

Examples of applications:
  • Getter material for lighting technology, in this case refractory metal
  • Welding aids for lighting technology, in this case sputtering of molybdenum strips with rhenium, platinum and ruthenium
  • Strips for stampings, in this case Tantalum

Tantalum strip:
width: 0.06–0.20 mm
