One of the core products of the business unit Special Metals Technology is wire made of niobium and niobium zirconium 1%. This wire is especially suitable for discharge lamps, such as high-pressure sodium vapor lamps or ceramic metal halogenide lamps, because of a thermal coefficient of expansion similar to that of aluminum oxide.
TaW wire, PtW wire and other precious metal alloys are also available.
In addition to wires made of standard alloys, we also develop and produce special materials customized to customer requirements, for example a
HT-1600 wire.
