Pins

Precision pins from the business unit Special Metals Technology are used in various lamp applications. These metal pins must meet custom requirements with respect to their manufacturing precision, surface quality and ability to hold tight tolerances.
The business unit Special Metals Technology specializes in the manufacture of precision pins made of precious and custom metals, such as gold, silver, platinum, niobium, tantalum, rhenium and stainless steel. Upon request a surface treatment or finishing can be performed using galvanic or PVD coating processes. The surface finish increases corrosion resistance and improves electrical conductivity. In addition to pins based on pure metals, Heraeus also produces pins made of composite materials, so-called cermets.
Corrosion resistant contact pins, which in some instances are as small as a tenth of a millimeter thick, are integrated as mounting fixtures or plug connectors in technical, chemical and medical equipment.
Due to our highly sophisticated manufacturing techniques, Heraeus precision pins can be adapted to many areas of application. If required, we can produce precision pins in small lots or lots of a million units. A large range of flexibility in design is available as well. Heraeus precision pins can be manufactured in various stamping molds, for example with custom tight toleranced vertical curvature, as well as pins with upset heads or with stamped, angular midsections for anchoring in plastics.
Precision pins undergo various production processes to guarantee that very tight dimensional tolerances, custom surface qualities and the required mechanical properties will be maintained.
Simply send us your specifications and we will manufacture to your requirements. We are also prepared to work together with you to develop a custom solution that meets your needs.
